[REVIEW] The Colour of Magic – Terry Pratchett

Image resultThe basic idea of this book was good but I found it hard to get my head into it. It is aimed at the fantasy and science fiction genre.

This is a brilliant book that starts off the Disc-world series by Terry Pratchett. It is the book you are meant to start off reading and divulge into his world; of some normal, some extraordinary characters, that are in various books, throughout the series.

The book shows you the events that take place around a dopey wizard called Rincewind and his merry bunch of people he meets along the way. The person, if you want to call it/him/her that, who comes to your attention is Death – trying to be clever throughout the book.

The rich city of Ankh-morph is full of details and makes an interesting read. This is the city of Discworld that the book is set. I found there were too many details, too quick. As if the author was running out of pages to write with. This ruins the pace of the book.

I wouldn’t recommend this book as although it’s easy to read, I got almost bored. It is a good read but not to my taste. This book is quite entertaining as one book or as part of a series.
