    Social Media anyone?

I think Social Media is important for keeping in touch with friends and family but this generation would be lost & confused if the internet broke or 4G didn’t on our phones. Social Media is also used a lot in the blogging community to promote posts and connect with like minded people

Social media is used for a lot of different things…

To contact people, you can use Facebook. For your Job-searching, you can use LinkedIn to find employers, or they find you.We also use search engines such as Google and our emails daily without even batting an eye. You can create a brand with professionally made blogs, on sites such as WordPress.Com and Blogspot.

Although sometimes I think people can share too much with others. We are all now at so much suc

h risk of being victims of cyber-crime. With so much going on, we just need to be vigilant in keeping safe online – don’t give out personal data (such as addresses), use different passwords, etc. Don’t be caught out – keep safe!

Here is a My Social Media: Twitter | Bookstagram | Goodreads | Facebook

(DISCLAIMER: This is not a sponsored post. There are many different types of Social Media.

    Share your thoughts with me:

Do you utilise social media well? Are you scared of Social Media? Do you only use social media for your blog? Is it a tool to keep in touch with friends & family?

    thanks – 1,000 views!

    Hello everyone,

Just a quick message to you all to say THANK YOU. I have finally hit 1,000 views. I’ve been watching my blog grow slowly and think it’s great that I have over 1,000 views in just under 4 months of blogging. This goal was hit around about Midnight last night.

I hope you all stick with me for the rest of the year (+ a few more months) till my one year of blogging happens in May 2018. I’m not sure what I’ll do but it’ll be fun!

Once again, I hope you enjoy what I post. Also if you think there is other stuff I’m missing or you don’t agree with feel free to tweet me @dmcdowall129 or just leave a comment.

My next milestone is “100 followers“. I’m hoping to get that by the end of 2017.

    Thanks for reading!a47c970a-03e4-4f70-bab2-3d8c8a3a86a8

    WRITE A POST

“I know the feeling when you can’t get into a book and sometimes you have to ask yourself ‘is this book worth reading anymore?’ and ‘can I really read another 200+ pages of this book I hate?’. The answer is up to you. I’ve found out the hard way that you have the choice every time you pick up a book, to put it back down – You should have that right to say ‘enough is enough’, I don’t want to go on reading this anymore.”

Give a brief story of how your blog started:

My blog started because after I decided to join my local library and volunteer there this year. Because of my decision, I started reading again after a 10-year break from books. My blog is dedicated purely to bookish things, & now finally I love to read again.

Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers:

    1. MAKE SURE YOU CHOOSE YOUR BLOG SITE WELL – I’ve blogged before and gave up because I was on the wrong site. This site (#Tumblr) works well for some but not for me, I ended up writing rubbish posts on there. I use now use #WordPress since making this blog, not only is it easier, it just works the way I like it.
    2. GET ON SOCIAL MEDIA EARLY – There is no other way to get your blog known these days quicker or easier than social media. My personal favourite is #Twitter. It’s quick and easy to set up an account and your “tweets” get seen by millions.

THE 15 BLOGGERS I NOMINATE ARE:

  • Favourites,  The Library

    Finally part of the LIBRARY

    Right, this is about teamwork.

I guess you might have noticed I am writing some of my blog posts in advance. I am about to today go on my first training session to do with the new IT system our local libraries are all using from next week. I have also been shown how to open up the library, how cool!

Basically, this is just me checking in saying how I am feeling about the place I work. Yes it’s working for free but I don’t care, it’s my workplace.

Now, I’m starting to see myself get more responsibilities & trust from my co-workers and that’s great. Since the last week or so I’ve finally started to feel like maybe I should stay a while & treat it like a real job!

For those of you who read my previous post. the book sale was a great success and it gave me chance to get my head around the till and serving customers more. I also myself picked up two books. It instigated me into thinking that I might start looking through charity shops for bargain buys!
